Tattoo Removal
Tattoo removal is a transformative process that uses q switch ND yag laser to target and break down ink particles embedded in the skin. Our cutting-edge technology penetrates deep into the skin, effectively fading tattoos with each session. Unlike outdated methods like creams or surgery,
laser tattoo removal provides lasting results without compromising your skin’s integrity.
Pre-care
- When your skin is sunburned, it becomes more sensitive and vulnerable to damage from the laser. Sunburned skin can blister, peel and even scar more easily when exposed to the laser treatment.
- For the laser to effectively target the ink, it needs direct access to the tattooed area. Hair on the skin can absorb and scatter the laser energy, making it less effective at penetrating the skin and reaching the ink, shaving the area ensures that the laser can directly and precisely target the tattoo.
- Fake tan may cause irritation during the treatment, potentially leading to increased discomfort or burns.
- Proper hydration is crucial for overall skin health and healing. When you are well-hydrated, your skin tends to be more flexible, resilient and better able to recover from various procedures, including tattoo removal. Hydrated skin is less likely to become excessively dry, flaky, or prone to complications.
- Certain medications can cause photosensitivity, making your skin more liable to damage from UV radiation. If you're exposed to sunlight or other sources of UV light before or after tattoo removal, you may be at an increased risk of sunburn or other skin reactions. Please make sure to inform your practitioner about any medication you are currently taking.
Post-care
- The sun can damage your skin by causing burns, premature aging, and uneven pigmentation. Leaving the skin more fragile and less likely to heal properly.
- Including exercise, swimming, saunas, jacuzzi etc: Tattoo removal procedures create small wounds or abrasions on the skin. Sweating can introduce bacteria and germs into these open areas, increasing the risk of infection. Infections can lead to pain, discomfort, and may result in scarring or other complications.
- After a tattoo removal procedure, the skin is essentially an open wound. Keeping it dry helps prevent infection. Moisture can introduce bacteria and germs into the wound, increasing the risk of infection, which can lead to complications and delay the healing process.
- The body's natural response to a wound is to form a protective scab or crust over it. This scab helps shield the area from external contaminants and minimizes the risk of infection. Allowing a scab to form is crucial for proper healing and reducing the risk of scarring.
- Twice per day for at least 48 hours and immediately after treatment. Aloe vera gel is hydrating and helps maintain the skin's moisture balance. After tattoo removal, the skin may become dry and potentially scab as part of the natural healing process. Aloe vera can prevent excessive dryness and promote a more comfortable healing experience.
- Smoking can hinder the body's ability to heal and weakens the immune system.
- The number of sessions required varies depending on factors such as tattoo size, ink colours, ink depth, age of tattoo, skin type, and individual response to treatment. On average, 8 – 10 or more sessions may be needed, spaced at least 8 weeks apart.
- Visible fading of the tattoo typically occurs around 6 – 8 weeks after each session. Significant changes become more noticeable after multiple sessions as the body’s immune system gradually clears away the fragmented ink particles.
- After each session, you may experience temporary side effects such as swelling, redness, blistering, or scabbing. Following pre- and post-treatment care instructions is crucial to ensure proper healing and minimise the risk of complications.
- While laser tattoo removal can significantly fade or even completely remove tattoos for many individuals, complete removal is not always guaranteed. It’s important to maintain realistic expectations regarding the outcome of the procedure.
- Consultation is free, no obligation and takes 10 minutes for all treatments.
